This Privacy Policy describes how Direct Message (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use our mobile application and this website. By using Direct Message, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or site.

Direct Message is designed to help you open chats in messaging apps (such as WhatsApp) or SMS without saving numbers to your contacts. Much of what you enter (phone numbers, drafts, templates) may stay on your device. Where we do process personal data, we aim to do so lawfully, transparently, and only as needed to provide and improve the service.

Depending on how you use Direct Message, the following may apply:

  • Device and app information. Such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and diagnostic data needed to fix crashes or improve stability.
  • Usage information. Such as which features you use (for example country code selection or quick messages), if collected in an aggregated or pseudonymous form.
  • Content you enter in the app. Phone numbers, message drafts, quick-message templates, and recent items may be stored locally on your device so the app can work offline and remember your preferences. We do not need to store the content of your WhatsApp or SMS conversations on our servers for the core “open chat” flow — those conversations happen in the third-party apps you choose.
  • Support communications. If you email us, we receive the address and contents you send.

The Google Play listing may describe additional categories (for example ads or analytics) if those features are enabled in your build — please review the in-app disclosures and Play “Data safety” section for the version you install.

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Direct Message;
  • Fix bugs, improve performance, and understand feature usage in aggregate;
  • Respond to support requests and legal obligations;
  • Protect the security and integrity of our services.

Direct Message helps you open the official messaging or SMS apps installed on your device. Your use of WhatsApp, SMS, or other messengers is governed by those providers’ terms and privacy policies. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp or other third-party messengers.

If you download the app from Google Play, Google’s privacy policy applies to that store and account. We may use Google Play-provided tools (for example crash reporting) as described in your app build and Play console settings.

If you download from the Apple App Store, Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply to that store and your Apple ID.

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Local data on your device remains until you delete the app or clear app data, unless the app offers in-product controls to remove specific items.

We take reasonable measures to protect information we process. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use Direct Message at your own risk alongside good device security (screen lock, updated OS).

Direct Message is not directed at children under the age required by your region (often 13 or 16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us so we can delete it.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If we or our service providers process data in countries other than your own, we take steps required by applicable law (such as appropriate safeguards or contractual clauses).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
